Back to life, back to reality...

We had a fun, busy week with Bryan's family in town. It is always sad to see them go - esp. considering we don't all get together that often. However, I know we are all ready to get back to our own houses and into the normal routine! Grandma and Grandpa will probably spend the week catching up on their sleep...

My nephew Dawson, who is 8 months old. He is Marc's (Bryan's oldest brother) only child.

Here is Luke, who is 6 weeks old. Scott and Holly drove here from Alabama with him and their two girls - maybe a little crazy on their part, but we appreciated it! It's interesting that they have two girls and their youngest is a boy, while Bryan and I have the opposite. As I told Holly this weekend, she's lucky she doesn't have another child in there because when I was pregnant with both Brady and then Mallory, she turned up pregnant a matter of weeks or months later!

Thanksgiving Week

We've had a very busy week with Bryan's family in town. I have SOOO many pictures to sort through... but, here are a few I wanted to share today.

This is how Mallory felt after tonight's game against Texas.

I love this one of her... esp. since I'm actually in the picture!

End of soccer

Brady's last soccer game was yesterday. We had great coaches this time around, and I will be sure to see if they are coaching again next fall! Brady and Drew will be able to be on the same team next year, so that should be interesting... Drew has been kicking the ball around a lot either before or during Brady's games, and he is quite coordinated for his age - much more so than Brady was at 2. Anyway, Brady was thrilled to get another trophy for his collection and is looking forward to teeball in the spring.

Guess I'm feeding her enough... look at that chin!

The Boys

Apparently, this is a fun thing to do with my hairclip... although I doubt he came up with this on his own!

3 months old

Mallory's "new" thing this month is to chew on her hands - it's difficult to feed her sometimes because they get in the way of the bottle a lot!

The third month seemed a little easier than the second, with the exception of her being sick for a week or so near the end. It's thrown off her feeding and sleeping schedule, so we're trying to get back on track with that. We're feeding her around 10 p.m., and she can make it until at least 5 a.m., if not an hour or two more, without eating again. Only problem is that we are still getting up because she won't sleep more than a few hours in the crib! Somtimes she will sleep the rest of the night in the swing, and other days I end up with her in the recliner. I'm going to give her another month or so and then try putting her on her tummy in the crib if she hasn't made any progress. She is smiling more and more - and doesn't reserve them for Mommy or her mobile like she seemed to last month. Her brothers are still enthralled with her, so we couldn't ask for anything more on that side of things!

Happy the Hippo

In Brady's preschool class, Happy the Hippo goes home with a different friend each weekend. He comes with a journal where you are to record all your adventures with him, and also with blueberry muffin mix since that is Happy's favorite treat. This weekend was Brady's turn with Happy, and he was very excited about all the things they could do together.

Happy went with us to Saltgrass, and Brady graciously shared his ice cream sundae with him.

Working on those blueberry muffins!

Getting ready for bed - fortunately, Drew's jammies fit Happy so he had something to wear to bed. Brady and Happy had a great weekend together, and Brady will be sad to give him up tomorrow morning!

Brady's Weekend

Brady spent the weekend with Grandpa and Grandma Farris. They took him to the Texas A&M game on Saturday, and Grandma and a couple of my aunts took him to Dewberry Farms today. I was supposed to meet them there with Drew and Mallory, but Drew is just starting to feel better after having been sick all week, so I decided to stay home. Anyway, it's always interesting to hear things from Brady's perspective. I knew that my dad was planning on taking him to the driving range to use the new golf club they got Brady for his birthday. So, I asked Brady about it. He said that he was good at it, but that he was still planning on being a baseball player when he grows up. Apparently, he and my dad must have talked about this, because he proceeded to tell me that he could still play golf because baseball players were able to do that in the off season. Also, he told me that golf is a good sport because you could still play it when you are old like Grandpa... LOL!

Grandma got him a new knock knock joke book, so he tried to tell me a few on the way home. Most of them he was making up himself because he couldn't remember, but the one he thought he remembered went like this: Knock, Knock - Who's there? - Spain - Spain Who? - Spain's butt! I said, "Are you sure that's right?" He was positive it was. Bryan looked it up in the book later, and apparently the correct punchline is "Spain in the butt" which makes a little more sense!

A little preview before I get the album done...
