2012 is finished!

I finished up the last few layouts I had planned from last year :)

Less than a week...

until my audition! I had my last training session last night, and I'm feeling very positive :)

Next weekend is also opening day for Brady's baseball league.  Grandma Dinkel is coming to help out on Saturday since I should be out of commission all weekend for my Jazzercise workshop.  His team has been practicing three times a week, and I think we are all looking forward to the beginning of the season!

Today, on the other hand, was our last flag football game.  We won the game, so it was a great way to go out!

(this is how it will look on my Project Life page)

A couple other pictures for Project Life this month -

I'm excited about the way Project life is going so far this year... I'm really making an effort to include more insight into our daily lives with it.  My natural tendency when scrapping my regular layouts is more of a focus on events like birthdays, holidays, etc. so I think these two together will make for a good mix in my album!

Catching up!

I'm getting around to some of the layouts I started last year but haven't come back to finish... until now. These Halloween pages were done with a kit I just bought - it's not my typical style, but I really liked some of the papers in it, plus buying it motivated me to get these done :)

Valentine layouts

Found some motivation last night! I had one of these layouts already done but hadn't gone back to finish the other side...

Valentine's Day, con't

Mallory's party was short and sweet.  They had mini ice cream sandwiches with toppings, then built some towers with conversation hearts.  They had passed out their valentines earlier in the day, to be taken home and opened.

I love real smiles :)

Hard at work

She was kind enough to take a few pics outside
before we headed home...

I think this is my fav!

These two aren't sharp pictures, but they're fun!

Here is Brady with his minecraft valentine box.  Drew made his box at school - in fact, I never got to see it because once he got home, he cleaned it out and threw it in the trash before I knew it.  Hard to argue with him putting the candy away without me asking!

Brady came home with valentines from all his classmates, plus an extra box of chocolates from his "girlfriend." I was glad he had thought to get her a little something, too!

Earlier this week, Mallory and I made these heart-shaped rice krispie treats... easy, fun, and yummy! While her brothers weren't around to help, they were happy to eat the results.

Happy Valentine's Day!

All three kids have parties this afternoon, but I'm only going to Mallory's.  Not because I don't want to go to the others, but because I'm not allowed! Parents aren't invited at the elementary school... something about less interruption for the kids and not enough parking.  After school, we are planning to go to the movies, then we'll probably pick up something for dinner on the way home.  I've never been a big fan of trying to go out on Valentine's night, I'd rather wait and not fight the crowds.

Here are the valentine pics we did with Karen a few weeks back -

I love the last one of Brady, definitely one of the best pictures I have of him looking so much older!  Old enough, in fact, that he is giving a special valentine to his "girlfriend" this year.  I've known about her for a few weeks thanks to his teacher, but he finally told me about her a couple days ago.  I tried really hard to be nonchalant and not make a big deal out of it.  As I told him, I remember having my first "boyfriend" in 3rd grade... not that we ever even talked to each other, lol.  Anyway, he's growing up, that's for sure!

February Fun

The kids got out early on Friday, and it was a very nice day outside. So, I offered to take Mallory to the park.  Drew was playing at a friends' house and was happy to stay there. I was surprised that Brady wanted to come along, although he did bring a friend.  We actually ended up going to the park again yesterday since Bryan offered to practice some baseball with Brady.  Of course, Mallory wanted no part of being left behind...

Mallory brought her friends along :)

Made this for Project Life - notice Mallory trying to
push Brady on the swing... he didn't tolerate it for long. lol

We also spent some time yesterday working on Valentines.  Mallory has owl valentines - she wrote her name on the back of all of them and then we added a pixie stick to each one.

I made the boys' valentines this year.  They weren't thrilled with any at the store, so I came up with the idea of making minecraft valentines.  They are both obsessed with it at the moment and spend hours a day playing it on their ipods.  It was just sheer luck that the same week we decided this, two of the designers at my favorite store came out with a minecraft kit - what are the odds?  I looked around a bit online for some ideas, and these are what I came up with -

Brady also has to make a valentine box to take to school, so he is using the kit, too.  Without too much direction, he can sit down and use photoshop well enough to make something he will be happy with.

Project Life - January

I'm doing Project Life again this year.  I'm going to attempt to be a little more on top of it this time around instead of waiting until several months have gone by, and then playing catch up!

Here are my January pages -

These are basically my templates.  From here, I have everything printed and then it goes into one of these page protectors -

I've decided that this year I'm going to spend a little more on printing so that I don't have to cut anything myself.  The most frustrating part of putting it together in the page protectors is getting everything to match up! If I don't have to cut, it should be easier...

A miracle...

has occurred! I got Brady's baseball schedule today... almost a month in advance!  We normally get it literally the week before the season starts, and I've never understood why it takes them so long to get it out.  I was just complaining about it today, so I take it back :)

Jazzercise training

My first training session was this past Friday.  I left the house directly after school at 3:30 p.m. and didn't make it to Bryan's parents' house until 5 p.m. - traffic stunk!  The jazzercise center I was headed to is within 5 miles of their house, so I dropped Drew and Mallory off there (Brady stayed home with Bryan for baseball practice later that night).  I was expecting 2-3 other girls to attend the session, but I ended up  being the only one!  Good news is, I got a lot of attention. Bad news is, I got a lot of attention. lol  It was 3 to 1... 1 of me and three instructors watching me from all angles, plus mirrored walls.  This doesn't sound that fun, does it?

While they were impressed with some of the things I am already doing well, they also found plenty for me to work on.  Of course, I was so sore yesterday, I didn't even consider working out.  Hopefully tomorrow when I go over my routines again, I will remember most of what I was told... we'll see.
