Happy Easter!

Bouncy got a fancy new collar from the Easter Bunny :)

Coloring eggs - we dyed them with Kool-aid this year.
Not sure I'll do that again considering three of the colors I
picked turned out red ( I expected pink, red, and purple/blue).

The boys were happy to design their eggs with crayon first,
then color them.

Mallory dyed hers first, then painted.

Showing off their creations...

Kemah boardwalk

We took the kids to Kemah today.  It seemed like a good time to go with Bryan and the kids off for the day and with the nice weather.  This time of year I'm always thinking about how quickly summer will be here and how I won't want to do anything outside for months!  I also knew the Easter Bunny was scheduled to be out this afternoon, and Mallory wanted to see him :)

Brady, Drew, and Andrew (Brady's BFF) are in #8

The winner of the day for Drew and Mallory - they got right
back into line after riding it the first time.

Mallory asked Daddy to be in the picture, but the two
I snapped of both of them didn't turn out as well as this one.

I asked the boys to humor me... and it's a really cute pic!

I had to offer my glasses since it was SO sunny... to her, anyway!

Bubbles!

Mallory found some bubbles in the pantry yesterday and was gung ho to go outside and blow them.  Of course, it was a tiny container so it took no time at all to go through it.  Today, she earned treasure chest at school and brought home a larger container of bubbles (as if we didn't have any! lol). She was very proud of herself and couldn't wait to open them up.

A few additions for Project Life this month -

finished page (needs to be cut and added to page protectors)

a 4x6 (will be part of the back)

Spring Break

The kids have enjoyed their time off from school, no surprise there.  On Monday, Mallory went to tea at the American Girl store.  Kate invited her as part of her birthday celebration.  Since Mallory doesn't have an American Girl, she took her Build-a-Bear along.  She also purchased a new puppy named Honey.  I mentioned to Mallory that the puppy's name must be honey because she is honey colored.  Mallory said no, that it's because honey is her favorite food.  I suggested that it could be both reasons, but she wasn't even willing to concede to that, lol.

Tuesday evening, I took Brady and a friend to the movies.  Bryan took Drew and Mallory to Putt Putt.

Her mad face (not sure why)

Fun with mirrors

Brain freeze!

Wednesday afternoon we met some friends at a local park.  Thursday afternoon, I got a sitter for Drew and Mallory.  Brady and I went to lunch, then to city hall for his interview with the Mayor.  Long story short... he is studying leaders in his GT class and is supposed to interview a local leader.  I was racking my brain trying to come up with someone good, and then last weekend I met the Mayor of League City because he is a jazzercise instructor :)  Brady was a little nervous, but he did well.

Drew was invited to have a sleepover with one of his friends in the neighborhood last night.  They were excited to sleep in their sleeping bags in a tent and have cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

That brings us to today, although I've spent most of the day thinking it's Saturday, lol.  I guess that's most likely because Bryan has the day off.  This morning, I taught my first jazzercise class! It went well, and I think the biggest compliment I got was one of the newer customers letting me know after class that she had no idea it was my first class until Joyce (the owner of the classes) announced it.  I'm teaching again tomorrow morning, and we are sitting down in the next couple of weeks to figure out what the schedule will be like adding me to the mix :)

It's March!

I've been meaning to post all week, but I'm obviously just now getting around to it.  I spent last weekend at Bryan's parents' house, attending my jazzercise workshop.  I passed the audition on Friday, then spent the next two days learning everything I need to know... I taught a few songs in class this week, mainly because I've never worn a mic before and need to get used to it.  Next week, I am scheduled to teach Friday and Saturday morning.  As an associate, I am required to teach at least 8 classes per month, but we haven't completely settled on what my schedule's going to be yet.

Monday was my birthday :) I took Brady to the orthodontist in the morning.  He was a bit anxious to find out whether he would need braces now or later.  Right now, the answer is later.  We will go back in December for another check-up and reassess then.

Instead of taking him back to school, we went to lunch, I shopped for a new pair of shoes, and we played a round of mini golf.  His classmates were spending the day taking a reading benchmark test, so his teacher and I decided there wasn't really a reason to take him back after the appointment.  It was nice to spend some time with him one on one, which doesn't happen very often anymore.  We were going to make a bet on who would win at golf but neither one of us could come with anything exciting.  In the end, I won... but only by two strokes!

For dinner, I decided on the Cheesecake factory.  Apparently, the mirrors in our booth were quite entertaining.

I don't remember Drew liking cheesecake when he tried it this summer, but today was a different story. The kids all shared a piece of the oreo extreme cheesecake.  After that, Drew was quick to tell us, "I love this place!!" He was talking about going back for his own birthday, lol.

This week was the kids' last week of school before Spring Break.  We don't have any big plans, but the kids are all excited about being off of school, and the boys are perfectly happy to run around the neighborhood with their friends.  Mallory is going to tea on Monday at the American Girl store, so I'm curious to know what all she will have to say about that!  She doesn't even know what American Girl dolls are.  She is debating on which of her animal friends to take instead :)
