Valentine pics

Never got around to individual pics of the kids before Christmas, so we did them in January...

The look on Mallory's face is SO her! She cannot stand to
lose to her brothers (or anyone, for that matter) in any way, shape or form.

Valentine's Day

Big surprise Friday! I went by the lot and discovered they were framing our house :) I was really driving by to see the progress they had made on other houses on our street, I still expected it to be a couple weeks before the framing started.

The garage - it has a barn style top with storage above.
There will also be a car port on the front.

Walking in the front door...

From our back yard - bottom floor is kitchen/breakfast area on the left,
living room in the middle, master bedroom on the right. The top floor
is Brady's room on the left and game room in the middle/right.

Side view of the garage from the back yard

We didn't do much today in honor of Valentine's Day.  The kids all had parties at school yesterday...

Mallory got a Valentine monkey from Bryan and I - of course, she was thrilled! lol

Bryan did get me some flowers and chocolate :) He and Brady went to baseball practice on Valentine's night, but we wouldn't have gone out regardless - no desire to fight the crowds! I did get a sitter for Saturday afternoon, and we went to the movie and dinner then.

News

Well, we got a second offer on the house this past weekend.  We signed the papers and everything was looking good until the buyer tried to get a quote on windstorm insurance.  To make a long story short, neither he nor his agent are from this area so they know nothing about windstorm insurance/coverage here, and the fact that our house is not windstorm certified became an issue.  I'm rather frustrated with the whole thing, but it is what it is!

Drew had Living Museum today at school.  It's a project that all 2nd graders at our elementary work on - you research a famous American and either give a speech and dress up as that person or make a board with information about your person and present it.  Drew and I went through the choices together, and we picked Charles Drew.  We figured it would be easy to remember, lol.  Getting the poster done was a little like pulling teeth at times, but he did great with the actual presentation part :)

Yesterday was Mallory's 100th day of school.  Instead of the usual festivities, the teachers changed it up this year and asked the students to dress as if they were 100 years old.  Mallory wasn't too keen on the idea, she thought it would be embarrassing.  When it was time to actually get dressed, she went with it, though.  It's hard to see in the picture, but we curled her hair and sprayed it silver.  She had on knee highs and sandals, which I thought really made the outfit!

No picture, but Brady lost his first molar this week.  He was at Dairy Queen eating dinner when it fell out, lol.  Baseball season has started for him - he has practice three times a week until the games start in March.
